Rodrigo Machado
VENEZUELA (1959)
Graphic designer and plastic artist, with design studies and art workshops at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá.
His work is conceptually inserted in the revision and reconceptualization of precursor movements of modern and contemporary art of the 20th century, in accordance with trends that have marked and defined a good part of contemporary art at the beginning of the 21st century. His main sources of reference come from Optical, Kinetic, Geometric and Retinal Art, and great masters such as Jesus Soto, Carlos Cruz-Diez or Gego.
Made with sophisticated high-tech printing techniques on aluminum surfaces and other contemporary materials, his works 'disturb' the human retina, through intersecting lines creating visual movement effects.
