MANUEL OJEDA

VENEZUELA (1968)

He graduated from the Escuela de Artes Visuales Cristóbal Rojas, Caracas, Venezuela. Manuel Ojeda proposes a work in which abstraction starts from the reference to nature, refining it until reaching his own vocabulary made of a few signs that the artist combines to generate different results. In his work, the superposition of layers and the transparency of colors generates plastic spaces defined by the interaction of the elements that make up the artist's discourse. More recently, Ojeda has taken his proposal to space, embodying the positive and negative planes of his pictorial work.

Manuel Ojeda worked for 18 years as assistant to Maestro Cruz-Diez in his workshop in Caracas and is currently one of the collaborators of the Articruz workshop, where he has been developing his own work since 2010.
